Cyber Safety and Awareness at DY Middle School

In recognition of National Bullying Prevention Month, our middle school students participated in a Cyber Safety and Awareness Presentation facilitated by the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office. Students learned about online safety, cyberbullying, digital privacy, responsible online behavior, and the potential legal consequences of inappropriate digital communication.

We thank the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office for helping our students build the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. We encourage families to continue these important conversations at home and remind students that everyone deserves to feel safe and respected, both in person and online.

Telling the Story in French!

Our French students put their language skills and teamwork to the test with a fun story-sequencing activity! Students read events from a story and dictated them to their teammates entirely in French. Working together, each team listened carefully, communicated, and arranged the events in the correct order to retell the story. This engaging activity helped students practice their French speaking and listening skills while strengthening collaboration and reading comprehension!

Students Prepare for Student-Led Conferences

Our students are getting ready to lead the way! Students have been preparing for their upcoming Student-Led Conference (SLC) meetings by reflecting on their learning, organizing their work, and practicing how to share their progress with their families. These conferences give students an opportunity to take ownership of their learning, celebrate their accomplishments, and identify goals for continued growth. We are proud of the responsibility and effort our Dolphins are demonstrating!

Important Reminder: Student Verification Form

Parents and guardians, please remember to log into PowerSchool and complete the Student Verification Form to update and confirm your student’s information. The link to complete this form was sent through ParentSquare on August 27, 2026.

This is an important step because the completed verification form includes permissions that are needed for your student to participate in and receive certain services at school. Without the required permissions, staff may be unable to provide or treat your student for certain services.

Please take a moment to log into PowerSchool and complete the Student Verification Form if you have not already done so.

Please note: This is a required annual process and must be completed each school year.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this important step and help us ensure we have the most current information and permissions for your student.
