🧪🔬 6th Grade Science is getting hands-on with mixtures and solutions!

In Mrs. LeBlanc’s science class, students investigated whether M&M’s are a mixture or a solution. Their favorite part? Watching the “m” float to the top! 🤯🍫

Since the “m” remained visible and separated from the other materials, students determined that M&M’s are a mixture. How cool is that?!

Students will continue exploring different mixtures and identifying their properties through hands-on labs. They’ll also investigate whether mixtures are heterogeneous or homogeneous based on their observations.

Science is definitely more fun when you can experiment with your candy! 🧪🍬

Wayfinder Corner

A diverse group of five smiling young people sit together outdoors, with the text "WAYFINDER: Belonging & Connection. We all have a place here." above them.

Belonging & Connection

This week, students will explore the meaning of belonging and how our connections with others help create a positive, supportive school community. Students will consider what it means to feel accepted, included, and valued for who they are, while identifying the people, experiences, and relationships that help them feel connected. Through collaborative discussion and reflection, students will build an understanding of how strong connections foster trust, confidence, participation, and a greater sense of belonging for everyone.

🏐🏑 Sports Update⚽

It was a busy week for our Dolphins, with all four teams taking on Nauset!

⚽ Boys Soccer: The boys battled to a 2–2 tie at home. Joao Arthur Nunes scored both goals for the Dolphins!

⚽ Girls Soccer: The girls played at home and Nauset came away with a 9–1 win. Naima Mtoko scored the Dolphins’ goal.

🏐 Girls Volleyball: The Dolphins started strong, winning the first set 25–17. Nauset took the next two sets, 19–25 and 20–25. Great effort from our volleyball team!

🏑 Girls Field Hockey: The Dolphins traveled to Nauset and battled through a 6–0 loss.

Way to compete, Dolphins! Keep working hard, supporting your teammates, and representing DYMS with pride! 🐬💚
