In French class, students in the Fontainebleau group (named after the famous Château de Fontainebleau) took on a running dictation challenge. Working as a team, they listened, wrote, and pieced together nine sentences to build a complete story in the correct order.
Their story follows Kailey, whose dreams shift as she encounters teachers speaking different languages. She first heads to university to become a doctor, but struggles when her teacher speaks Swahili. She then sets her sights on becoming an astronaut, only to face another obstacle when her teacher speaks Hindi. In the end, Kailey achieves her goal of becoming a scientist when she finally learns from a teacher who speaks a language she understands—Polish.
A creative and engaging way to practice listening, writing, and collaboration in French class!

Spirit Week brought the energy all week long, from cozy PJ Day to Twin Day, tropical vibes, and the fun switch on Dress Like a Teacher / Teacher Dress Like a Student Day. We wrapped it all up showing true school pride in green and white. Great participation, great spirit, and a great way to bring the school community together.

On May 1st, we brought the energy as we headed into the final stretch of MCAS with a schoolwide pep rally. The afternoon was packed with fun and competition, including an MCAS-themed poster contest judged by our guidance department, advisory team relay races, and the always popular MCAS pie throw. Students with the top ten cumulative MCAS scores from last year in each grade were recognized, and the top scorer in each grade earned the chance to pie a staff member.
Our pep band kept the energy high, playing music throughout the event and adding to the excitement.
We also kept things lively with DYMS trivia, featuring questions from each team of teachers and opportunities to earn LiveSchool points and prizes.
To show school spirit, 6th grade wore white and 7th grade wore green.
It was a fun, high-energy afternoon and a great way to build momentum heading into MCAS!

DYM is working to bring a school-based counseling program to our school in partnership with Child & Family Services (CFS). Once we have enough interested students and required paperwork is completed, we will be able to offer this support during the school day. CFS provides counseling services for students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or mental health concerns. Services are delivered by licensed therapists, billed through medical insurance, and include collaboration with school staff. If you are interested in this opportunity for your child, please review the information attached about the CFS Outreach Counseling Program and complete the steps for your child to be involved.
