On Friday, April 10th, we recognized the hard work and accomplishments of our 6th and 7th grade students during our Term 2 Awards. Students were honored for achieving High Honors (all A’s) and Honors (A’s and B’s), along with special recognition in related arts and reading. Additional awards celebrated students who exemplify what it means to be a positive member of our school community, including Humanitarian, Positive Spirit Builder, Creative Thinker, and Tremendous Growth. We are proud of the effort, progress, and character our students continue to show each day.

The DY Winter Percussion and Winter Guard performed for students at DY Intermediate Middle School, delivering a full-scale production that blended music, movement, and visual storytelling.
For many students in the audience, it was an eye-opening experience. One fifth-grade student shared, “I had no idea DY had something like this. I can’t wait to do this when I get to DY!”
Programs like Winter Percussion and Winter Guard offer students opportunities that go far beyond the classroom—combining artistry, precision, and teamwork at a remarkably high level. Dennis-Yarmouth is fortunate to be the only high school on Cape Cod to offer programs like these, providing students with unique opportunities to grow as performers, collaborators, and leaders.

DYM is working to bring a school-based counseling program to our school in partnership with Child & Family Services (CFS). Once we have enough interested students and required paperwork is completed, we will be able to offer this support during the school day. CFS provides counseling services for students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or mental health concerns. Services are delivered by licensed therapists, billed through medical insurance, and include collaboration with school staff. If you are interested in this opportunity for your child, please review the information attached about the CFS Outreach Counseling Program and complete the steps for your child to be involved.

On April 15th from 1:00–2:00PM, our entire school will gather in the auditorium for a youth empowerment assembly presented by TEEN TRUTH.
This 60-minute program is designed to inspire connection, resilience, and positive decision-making through engaging storytelling and interactive elements. We look forward to bringing our school community together for what promises to be a meaningful and impactful experience for all students.
