On Wednesday, March 11th the DYMS seventh graders spent the morning at the high school getting a glimpse of what next year will look like. Students were greeted by Principal Bennett before heading out on a tour of several key areas, including the library, guidance office, auditorium, science labs, music and art rooms, and the cafeteria.
During the visit, they also heard about opportunities available to them such as athletics, world language offerings, and the German exchange program. The morning wrapped up in the Upper Gym with a lively performance by the music departmentâs Winter Percussion and Winter Guard teams.
It was a great opportunity for students to see the building, learn about what the high school has to offer, and start looking forward to the next school year!

In French class, four sixth grade students wrote and illustrated a story about an imaginary kasbah in Morocco. In their story, a wealthy family lived inside the fortified kasbah to protect their gold from mercenary pirates. Their work combined creative writing and detailed illustrations to bring their setting and characters to life. âď¸đđď¸

On Friday, students in Mrs. Bryantâs classes celebrated Pi Day a little early with a memorization challenge. Sixth graders were invited to memorize as many digits of pi as they could. Keiley Sears took the win for Team 3 after reciting an impressive 65 digits. Her prize? The chance to pie Mrs. Bryant in the face! A fun way to celebrate 3.14 Day. đ
