Our 6th graders had a whale of a time with the New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance. Students went inside a life-size model of a humpback whale, listened to different whale calls, and explored real whale bones. They learned about what whales eat, how blubber works as an insulator, and wrapped up the experience with hands-on arts and crafts. A fun and memorable way to bring marine science to life.

Students in DLCS used micro:bits, pocket-sized computers, to code interactive games and digital companions. Through this work, students explored how software and hardware work together by programming LED displays, buttons, sensors, and other input and output features. Games created included Hot Potato, Rock Paper Scissors Shoot, Heads Up, and a Micro:bit Companion.

In Mrs. Persichilloâs 6th grade class, students wrote found poems using only words from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.âs âI Have a Dreamâ speech. By selecting words such as courage, peace, inspire, love, working together, and equal, students explored the meaning and impact of Dr. Kingâs message.

The DennisâYarmouth Scholarship Fund is proud to host its annual Calendar Raffle to support local students as they pursue higher education. For more than 15 years, the fund has provided financial assistance to over 40 students, made possible through the generosity of our school community and local partners.
We are currently seeking donations of gift certificates, monetary contributions, or physical items to be used as raffle prizes. These contributions are essential to the success of the raffle and directly support future scholarship awards. If you own a business, know a local restaurant, or have a handmade item or service you would be willing to donate, your support would be greatly appreciated.
Donations help ensure this important program can continue to serve students for years to come. Questions can be directed to Regina Wood at woodr@dy-regional.k12.ma.us
