This past week in French class, students practiced speaking by reading stories written by their classmates. We also focused on telling time and learned a catchy song to master numbers 1–20 in French. Great work, everyone!

For their culminating project, 7th grade science students used the Engineering Design Process to design and build a thermos that minimizes heat transfer. Students defined the problem, researched conduction, convection, and radiation, and considered real-world constraints such as materials, cost, and size. They brainstormed, sketched, built, and tested prototype designs by tracking temperature changes over time, then analyzed their data to improve their models. The project concluded with students presenting their final designs and explaining how their engineering choices reduced heat transfer, connecting classroom science to real-world problem solving.

Students are strengthening their writing skills in French class using self-correcting digital tools that provide immediate feedback and encourage thoughtful revision. These tools support independence while helping students build confidence as they practice writing in a new language.
