Message from our Administration Team

A festive holiday greeting with "Happy Holidays" and "AND HAVE A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR" text.

Enjoy the Break — We’ll See You Soon!

As we reach the middle of vacation, we wanted to take a moment to wish all of our families a wonderful holiday season. Time away from our regular routines allows students to recharge, reflect, and return with renewed energy for learning. We hope this break has provided opportunities to connect with loved ones and enjoy time together.

When students return, we are excited to jump back into learning with focus, motivation, and Dolphin pride. Thank you for all that you do to support your child’s success. We look forward to seeing everyone back soon!

Sincerely,
Mr. Bovino, Principal
Mrs. Burns, Assistant Principal (6th)
Mr. Hanscom, Assitant Principal (7th)

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Community Partners

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the many community groups, organizations, and individuals who have generously contributed to our Students in Need Fund. These donations make a real difference for our students and families by helping ensure all students have access to the resources they need to feel supported, confident, and ready to learn.

We are especially grateful to the Bass River Yacht Club, DY Men’s Hockey League, Yarmouth Police Department, Bass River Rod & Gun Club, Yarmouth Rotary, and Cape Cod Bright Lights. Together, their generosity totaled more than $5,000 in support of our students and families. We also extend our thanks to the Town of Yarmouth Health Department, the Muriel L. and Mary Francis Kiley Foundation, Inc., and the many DYMS teachers and staff members who contributed as well.

This outpouring of support is a powerful reminder of the strength of our community and our shared commitment to students. On behalf of our staff, students, and families, thank you for making such a meaningful impact.

Spirit Week Fun Before the Holiday Break (December 15–19)

Spirit Week was a great way to wrap up the days leading into holiday break. From holiday hats and Little White Lies, to Anything But a Backpack, PJ Day, and Twin Day, students and staff went all in. The creativity, laughter, and school pride made it a memorable week and a fun way to end the stretch before vacation.

Hands-On Learning: The Human Body in Action ❤️🫁

Sixth graders in Ms. Christopher’s class are diving into the human body by exploring multiple body systems. From a heart pumping lab to building a working lung model, students are learning how these systems function through hands-on, engaging activities.

Exploring the Digestive System 🦷➡️🍽️

Students in Mrs. Ivkovic's science class completed a hands-on digestive system lab, exploring how food moves through the body from the mouth through the final stage of digestion. This activity helped students better understand each part of the digestive process and how the system works as a whole. 🔬🧠

Sweet Rewards for a Strong Finish

Some of our 6th grade teams created a gingerbread incentive to celebrate the holiday break and the hard work students put in this term. It was a fun, relaxed way to recognize their effort, creativity, and commitment as we wrapped up the weeks leading into vacation 🎄🍪
