Each week, we’ll bring you a snapshot of the exciting events, important updates, and celebrations happening throughout our DYMS community. A Festive Night of Music 🎶

On December 17th, the holiday spirit was in full swing at our 6th Grade Concert, featuring the 6th and 7th Grade Chorus, the 6th Grade Orchestra, and the 6th Grade Band. The students filled the evening with music and cheer. A big thank you to all of our performers, and to Mrs. Cutts, Mr. Cutts (piano accompanist), Mrs. Cutler, and Mr. Graf for the time, care, and dedication they put into making this festive concert such a success.

6th Grade Concert
 

Term 1 Awards Celebration: 6th and 7th Grade

Congratulations to our 6th and 7th grade students recognized for their hard work and achievements during Term 1. Awards included Honor Roll (As and Bs), High Honor Roll (As), Related Arts excellence in physical education, music, orchestra, chorus, band, art, health, and DLCS, as well as Reading Awards. Students were also celebrated with specialty awards for Humanitarian, Positive Spirit Builder, Creative Thinker, and Tremendous Growth. We are proud of the effort, growth, and positive impact these students bring to our school community.

Tech Explorers in Action

Our 6th and 7th graders dive into hands-on technology experiences in DLCS, discovering new tools and sparking creativity every day.

Hands-On Anatomy in Action 🦴✋

Students examined three unknown bones, using shape and structure to identify where each belongs on the skeleton and determine its function 🦴🔍. They then created human hand models to explore how bones, joints, tendons, and muscles work together to move the fingers ✋💪🧠.

Afterschool Activities

Winter After School Activities Are Here

Registration is now opens Dennis-Yarmouth Middle School After School Activities. Programs run from January 12 through March 13 and are open to all students. This session includes Fiddlers, Jewelry Making, The Joy Project, Advanced Lego Building, Polymer Clay Club, Intro to Guitar, Zentangles, and Chess Club. Registration and payment are due by January 9. 2026 Dennis Rec Summer Camp ☀️🏕️

Registration is almost here! Join us as we celebrate 50 years of Dennis Rec Summer Camp 🎉. Camp runs June 22 through August 21 and offers full-summer and new weekly registration options for ages 6–13. Families can expect engaging activities, special performers, field trips, themed days, daily lunch, and an ice cream truck visit 🍦. Registration opens Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Spots are limited, so plan ahead!
