Each week, we’ll bring you a snapshot of the exciting events, important updates, and celebrations happening throughout our DYMS community. This newsletter is your go-to source to stay connected and informed. Be sure to check your messages every Monday so you don’t miss a moment of what’s happening at school!

Student-Led Conferences

We want to make sure the Student-Led Conference (SLC) sign-up process is clear and easy for everyone.

✅ Every student has been assigned a SLC facilitator. This staff member will meet with your student four times before your scheduled conference to help prepare their individual SLC portfolio.

📅 When scheduling your conference, please sign up for only one appointment with your child’s assigned SLC facilitator. This is the person who will guide the conference and ensure all elements of your child’s portfolio are ready.

⚠️ If you have accidentally scheduled with a different staff member, we kindly ask that you cancel that appointment and re-schedule only with your child’s SLC facilitator.

After-School French Support with Mme. Kemprecos 📚

French students meet with Mme. Kemprecos every Tuesday after school 🕓 to revisit assignments ✏️ and boost their grades 📈—all in a supportive and fun environment 😄🎉.

Photo/Media Opt-Out

The process for photo/media permissions has changed. In the past, families filled out a form. Now, if you do not want your child’s image or name shared by the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District, you must send a signed opt-out letter to your school principal by October 1 (or within 30 days of mid-year enrollment).

Student photos and videos may appear on the district website, social media, yearbooks, and occasionally with local media. Names are only shared for honors, awards, and graduation. Please note, this does not apply to public events such as performances, competitions, or athletic games.

Notes from the Nurse

It is essential that all families complete the Student Health Authorization Form so our nurse can provide care for your child during the school day. This authorization allows the nurse to treat your child for common needs such as an ice pack, Advil/Tylenol, or checking a fever.

To complete the form:

Log into your child’s PowerSchool account.
In the PowerSchool App, go to More → Forms → #8 Health Authorization.
Fill out the form and click Submit.

DYHS Athletic Announcement

Below are reminders and updates for the "HOME" Football Games

~ Gates open 45 minutes before Kick-off. Kick off is at 6:00pm

~ Any child not enrolled at Dennis-Yarmouth High School will need to be accompanied by an adult and supervised for the duration of the game.

~ Electronic tickets are available using Go Fan. Ticket pricing is $6 for adults and $5 for students and Senior Citizens.

~ The D-Y Police Services Unit and Yarmouth Police will be on hand to ensure a safe and enjoyable event.

~ Games typically end about 7:30 p.m. The D-Y facility will close 30 minutes after the game ends, and all spectators must leave the property. Please make pick-up arrangements accordingly. Waiting on the property after closing is not permitted.

Please be aware of the following rules:

No coolers, bags or backpacks
No outside food or beverages
No athletic equipment of any kind, including footballs, except on the field
No re-admittance (you can only leave the stadium once)
No Pets

All school rules apply at the game. Go Dolphins!

DYIMS PTO

The DYIMS PTO meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the DYIMS library.

Plans for the big Boosterthon were discussed, along with organizing other upcoming events.

This year, the PTO is aiming to raise $30,000 to support field trips, in-school presentations, and guest speakers – and help from the community is needed!
